MODIFICATIONS TO MST BUS SERVICE TAKE EFFECT FEBRUARY 2

On Saturday, February 2, 2013, MST will introduce new express bus service between downtown Santa Cruz and downtown Monterey and the Presidio of Monterey twice daily. In addition, major schedule revisions to Line 24 Carmel Valley Grapevine Express as well as minor modifications to a handful of other bus lines will be implemented to improve efficiency, connectivity and on-time performance. And, beginning February 3, Sunday service is restored to Lines 82 and 83 to provide connections between Monterey and San Luis Obispo Counties seven days-a-week courtesy of special rural inter-city grant funding through Caltrans and the federal government.

Line 23: Schedule adjustments to some AM and PM trips.
Line 24: Major schedule adjustments to improve on-time performance and connectivity to other bus lines. Some trips no longer serve the Monterey Conference Center.
Line 29: First AM trip in each direction will now operate on weekdays only.
Line 55: The Morgan Hill stop will no longer be a timepoint, but will continue to be served.
Line 72: Minor schedule adjustments to one AM trip.
Line 75: Minor schedule adjustments to PM trips.
Line 76: Minor schedule adjustments to one AM trip.
NEW! Line 78: Service between the Presidio of Monterey and downtown Santa Cruz with stops in downtown Monterey. On weekdays, Line 78 also serves Castroville, Salinas Rd. Park-N-Ride, Aptos, Cabrillo College, and Dominican Hospital. On weekends, Line 78 trips are virtually non-stop between downtown Santa Cruz and Central Monterey, reducing travel time to about an hour, with only one intermediate stop at Sand City Station.
Line 82: Minor schedule adjustments to AM trips. Addition of service on Sundays.
Line 83: Addition of service on Sundays.
