ENO ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF FRANK J. LICHTANSKI TRANSIT SCHOLORSHIPS - 2007

Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST), the American Public Transit Foundation, the Eno Transportation Foundation, Dr. Barbara Gannon and the Lichtanski family are pleased to announce the creation of the Frank J. Lichtanski Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Frank J. Lichtanski, long time General Manager/CEO of Monterey-Salinas Transit passed away June 9, 2005 leaving a 31-year legacy of providing outstanding transit service to the people of Monterey County.

In memory of Frank’s dedication to the public transit industry, his support of small and medium-sized transit agencies and commitment to educating future leaders in transit leadership, a scholarship has been established in his memory to two individuals each year to attend a session of the Eno Foundation’s Center for Transit Leadership (CTL). Frank had been involved with the CTL from its inception and, just weeks before his passing, participated as an instructor.

The CTL program’s goal is to prepare senior managers for tackling the challenges and assuming the responsibilities that come with serving in top leadership positions at agencies and companies in the transit industry. In keeping with Frank’s interest in strengthening smaller properties, the Frank J. Lichtanski Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to eligible candidates from small and medium-sized transit agencies. - 2006 Winners 2007 Winners
