Be Safe

Stand back from
the curb until the bus makes a complete stop.

Have your fare
ready so you can use the handrails for support.

Use the
handrails when boarding, riding and departing the bus.

Take a seat as
soon as possible after boarding the bus.

Stay in your
seat while the bus is in motion.

Keep your head,
hands and arms inside of the bus.

Be good
neighbors... don't distract the operator or other passengers with
unnecessary conversation, yelling or causing a commotion on the bus.

Signal that you
would like to get off one block in advance and remain seated until
the bus comes to a complete stop.

If your bike is
on the bus, say to the driver "Please wait for me to take my bike
off the rack," when you get off.

Watch your step
when you get on and off the bus... especially at night and in rainy
weather.

Assist small
children on and off the steps.

After you get
off the bus, stand back and wait for it to leave before crossing the
street.
Stay Safe

Never stand in
the street when buses or other vehicles are approaching.

Never run after
or hit the side of a moving bus.

Never allow
small children to stand on the seat while riding the bus.

Never stand or
sit in any of the bus stairwells.

Never jump from
the curb to the bus step or from the bus step to the curb.

Never enter the
street in front of or from behind a stopped bus.
