Changes to Line 21
Monterey-Salinas via Highway 68 include providing rush hour fixed-route service
between Monterey Transit Plaza and Ryan Ranch only along the line 21 route
every 30 minutes; maintain one morning roundtrip between Salinas and Monterey;
maintain one afternoon one-way trip from Salinas to Highway 218; eliminate
service between York Road and downtown Salinas at all other times; allow the
afternoon line 53 Pebble Beach-South County Express to stop at existing line 21
stops along Highway 68 from York Road and Torero Road and serve Portola Drive
between Torero Road and Torro Hills Avenue; and eliminate service completely on
Saturday.
Line 27 Watsonville-Monterey
would be operated by MV Transportation using 900-series 17-passenger vans
instead of full-size buses. Days, span and frequency of service would not
change.
Line 28 Watsonville-Salinas
would operate on a Sunday schedule on Saturdays instead of a weekday schedule
due to low ridership.
Lines 9 Fremont-Hilby and 10
Fremont-Ord Grove would operate at 30-minute intervals instead of 15-minute
intervals from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. due to lower ridership
during mid-day hours.
The
MST Board named Carl G. Sedoryk as Acting General Manager/CEO for a period not
to exceed six months. The Board and Mr. Sedoryk will meet to discuss
performance objectives.
The
Board adjourned the meeting in the memory of Frank J. Lichtanski, General
Manager/CEO. Mr. Lichtanski will be remembered for his 31 years of dedication
to providing the very best transit service to the people of Monterey County.
His quick wit, good humor, commitment to excellence, love of nature and

community at large.
