Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) is introducing two new services which will provide workers and job seekers with transportation for getting to work, to job training or as a commute alternative to expensive gas prices.

Line 48 East Salinas-Airport Business Center offers service every half hour and connects East Salinas with the Salinas Airport Business Center. Connections to Line 48 from other MST lines throughout Salinas are also available. There are numerous employers located at the Business Center as well as the One-Stop Career Center, providing passengers work and job-seeking opportunities. In addition, Line 48 will serve new areas on the far eastern side of Salinas as far as East Boronda Road, including the Montecito Senior Apartment Complex on Mesquite Road.

Line 54 Monterey-Airport Business Center provides service from downtown Monterey to Del Monte Center, CTB McGraw-Hill at Ryan Ranch Business Park and to Salinas Airport Business Center. The bus makes two eastbound trips in the morning and two westbound trips in the evening.

This project is funded through a unique public/private partnership between MST and Salinas Airport Business Partners.

The two new services will begin Monday, January 30, 2006 and will operate Monday through Friday.
