Monterey-Salinas Transit will provide bus service to Big Sur beginning Saturday, May 27, 2006. New this year is the addition of a second round trip on the route. Service will continue daily through Labor Day, Monday, September 4, 2006.

The second trip has been added to Line 22-Big Sur to better serve visitors and locals in their travel needs to and from Big Sur. The route begins at Monterey Conference Center in downtown Monterey and stops include the Monterey Transit Plaza, Del Monte Center, in Carmel at 6 th & Mission, Point Lobos State Park, Bixby Creek Bridge (for photo opportunities, southbound trips only), Point Sur Light Station, Andrew Molera State Park, Big Sur River Inn, Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park and Nepenthe.

A unique, affordable and environmentally sound way to travel the Big Sur coast, the cost to travel on Line 22-Big Sur is $4.00 each way – or $2.00 for seniors, youth or disabled passengers. All buses are equipped with bicycle racks and are wheelchair accessible.
