Portions of Monterey-Salinas Transit’s (MST) service will be impacted by the Big Sur International Marathon activities Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27, 2008.

On Saturday, April 26 from 7 to 9 AM, a 3K Run will close Del Monte Avenue between Casa Verde and Washington. Lines 1 Monterey-Pacific Grove, 2 Monterey-Pacific Grove, 2X Pebble Beach and 20 Monterey-Salinas will need to detour during this event. In addition, Line 55 San Jose Express may not be able to serve the Tyler Street Parking Garage during this time.

On Sunday, April 27 the Marathon will restrict traffic from 4 AM to 1 PM on Lines 4, 22 and 24. Line 22 Big Sur will only serve stops between the Monterey Conference Center and San Carlos & 13 th in Carmel during the event, as HWY 1 will be closed from Sycamore Canyon Road to Carmel Valley Road. After 1 PM Line 22 Big Sur will resume full service allowing passengers to experience the natural splendor of Big Sur.

Lines 4 Carmel-Carmel Rancho and 24 Carmel Valley Grapevine Express will not service the Crossroads Shopping Center, as it will not be accessible to coaches. HWY 1 from Rio Road to Carmel Valley Road may also experience heavy delays throughout the day. Expect delays on lines 4 and 24.
