CARMEL VALLEY GRAPEVINE EXPRESS BACK IN SERVICE

Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) is again starting up Line 24 Carmel Valley to assist visitors and locals with an opportunity to enjoy the many wine tasting venues and other amenities available in Carmel Valley, Cannery Row and at other stops along the route.

The service begins Saturday, May 27 th, 2006 and will operate year round. New this year is an extension of the line to Cannery Row and Monterey Bay Aquarium. The route also includes a stop at The Barnyard.

Named the Carmel Valley-Grapevine Express, the service begins at the Monterey Bay Aquarium with stops along Cannery Row and at the Monterey Conference Center, Monterey Transit Plaza, The Barnyard and Carmel Rancho before continuing on to wine tasting rooms along Carmel Valley Road and ending in Carmel Valley Village, where numerous wine tasting rooms are clustered. The buses will run every hour between 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. with the last return trip to Monterey at 9:30 p.m. The days of operation are Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the year. An all-day pass is $4.50 with discounted fares for seniors (65+) or disabled costing $2.25.
