Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) will begin operating their Victorian-style trolleys on the popular WAVE (Waterfront Area Visitors Express) route beginning Saturday, May 27, 2006.

Now in its 15 th season, the WAVE route offers visitors and locals an enjoyable and easy way to get around the waterfront and downtown Monterey. The free service runs from the Monterey Bay Aquarium to historic downtown Monterey with stops at Cannery Row, Fisherman’s Wharf, Monterey Conference Center and many other stops in between. The service runs every 10-12 minutes and stops at the Monterey Transit Plaza, offering connections to all MST’s other lines.

Funded by the City of Monterey, the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Monterey-Salinas Transit, the partnership creates an opportunity for visitors and locals to receive fast, fun and free shuttle service without worrying about parking and traffic while also reducing traffic congestion and fuel emissions.

The service will continue through Labor Day, Monday, September 4, 2006 and will be available again during select holiday periods throughout the year.
